Youth Ensemble

Young artists. Powerful rhythms. Japanese tradition carried forward.

enTaiko Youth Ensemble

The enTaiko Youth Ensemble is our primary performing group, bringing together students in grades 3–8 to share the power and cultural richness of Japanese taiko. Through sustained training, students develop technique, confidence, leadership, and strong ensemble skills.

The group performs year-round at cultural festivals, schools, community events, the Portland Japanese Garden, and enTaiko’s annual concert. Each summer, the ensemble presents more than ten shows through enTaiko’s library tour.

Performances combine dynamic drumming, movement, cultural education, ASL storytelling, and audience participation—creating an engaging and accessible experience for people of all ages and abilities.
