Oni Mask -en Taiko Concert 2016-

Please join en Taiko, a Portland-based youth Japanese drumming group for our annual concert. For those unfamiliar with taiko drumming, it combines communal elements of percussive music enhanced by singing and dance. It is powerful, beautiful, and moving. 

This performance showcases from kinder to high school students' year-long effort to master numerous taiko pieces. Familiar and beloved routines such as Miyake and Samurai Beat will be featured. Additionally, en Taiko again collaborated with local marimba artist Eric Schopmeyer to create two new marimba and taiko pieces that will debut at this concert.  Join us as a community to celebrate the efforts and mastery of en Taiko!
